What is Chiropractic?
1.What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of conditions that are caused by and related to dysfunctional joints, muscles and nerves. Our profession is a “hands on” one, in that we use methods that are holistic and natural; which do not include drug therapy or surgery.
As Chiropractors, we aim to establish and maintain good spinal health, which is often interrupted by simple daily events such as bad posture, increased stress and tension, trauma etc. By restoring and managing a patient’s spinal health we can decrease the pain and discomfort that are associated with a nervous system that is not functioning at it’s optimum.
Our aim is to increase patients’ overall health and ensure that they are living well balanced lifestyles. We use a variety of techniques in different combinations. Treatment protocols are specified to each patient and what that patient’s body requires. The techniques we use include, joint manipulation and mobilization, soft tissue release, electrotherapy, dry needling, therapeutic ultrasound and laser.
We treat patients of all ages, and from all walks of life. Apart from the treatment itself, we offer patients advice regarding nutrition, exercise, rehabilitation and general lifestyle to help every patient reach their best state of health.

3. What to expect
We often have patients who are apprehensive about seeing a Chiropractor because they don’t really know what to expect. Here’s a brief summary of the series of events you can expect when you have a consultation with one of our Chiropractors.
- When you have an appointment with one of our practitioners your consultation will be 30 minutes long.
- The first thing the doctor will do it ask you some questions regarding your pain, then you will be examined so that the potential cause of your pain can be located.
- Finally, you will receive treatment which will be dependent on the doctor’s findings during examination. Your treatment will include different variations and combinations of treatment based on what is best for your particular complaint.
- The doctor will also advise you on home exercises or changes that you need to make as a part of your recovery, as well as follow up appointments and management programs.

4. What does it cost?
Our clinics currently accept most medical aids and we have discounted rates that are offered to patients who are paying cash. We have card facilities (Tap facility available) for those patients who wish to pay by debit or credit card.
